East Midlands East Maths Hub is one of 40 maths hubs across England being coordinated by the NCETM. East Midlands East Maths Hub is an approachable, inclusive, and supportive community which provides a research informed approach to mathematics education across all phases. 

Are you passionate about Early Years mathematics? Do you have the expertise, drive and enthusiasm to support practitioners and improve outcomes for young learners across the region?

East Midlands East Maths Hub is seeking experienced and motivated classroom practitioners to join our Local Leader of Mathematics Education (LLME), a new and exciting regional team of Early Years practitioners. This is a great opportunity to contribute to high-quality professional development and help shape maths education for our youngest children detailed in the ‘Best start in life’ paper.

About the role

As an LLME (Early Years), you will:

  • Work collaboratively with the East Midlands East Maths Hub leadership team and fellow LLMEs.
  • Support the design and delivery of professional development programmes for Early Years practitioners.
  • Facilitate Work Groups that promote mastery approaches in Early Years maths.
  • Share best practice, research-informed pedagogy, and innovative strategies.
  • Build strong relationships with schools, settings and leaders across the East Midlands East region.

This role offers flexible involvement depending on your availability and expertise.

Who We’re Looking For?

You may be a great fit if you are:

  • An experienced Early Years practitioner, EYFS leader, consultant or specialist teacher.
  • Passionate about raising standards in Early Years maths.
  • Experienced in supporting Early Years teachers and leading professional development.
  • Knowledgeable about mastery approaches and current Early Years curriculum expectations.
  • A strong communicator with the ability to inspire and empower others.
